In this workshop, we dive into musical heritage, regional history, local lore, and social context to explore these foundational tunes. Here's what you can expect: ​

• A musical review of several popular Appalachian murder ballads, including the true, trueish, and not-so-true stories that inspired these songs. ​

• A digital collection of acoustic recordings of the songs we learn about—so you can continue to learn them and love them long after our session.
