Cassidy Dickens - Press Kit
About Cassidy Dickens
Cassidy Dickens is an Americana singer-songwriter with a dulcet voice and a gift for evocative storytelling. Born and raised in southern West Virginia, Cassidy’s writing is distinctly rooted in Appalachia yet infused with a fresh, contemporary indie-folk sound all her own. Her music has been described as “like driving up to an old friend’s house—you’re going to laugh, you’re going to cry, and you’re going to leave feeling a little better off for having stopped by.”
With three full-length albums and several awards under her belt, Cassidy continues to carve out her place as one of Appalachia’s Rising Stars. A Josie-Nominated songwriter, 2025 Best of West Virginia finalist for Best Musician, and Augusta Summer Heritage Workshop instructor, Cassidy’s mastery of language and melody transcend industry trends and get straight to life’s marrow. Her music has been featured nationally on TLC, as well as at beloved regional venues like The Purple Fiddle (Thomas, WV), WDVX Blue Plate Special (Knoxville, TN), Deja Vu Music Festival (Elkins, WV), Jerry Run Summer Theater (Cleveland, WV).
In addition to her rich Appalachian-centric history, Cassidy spent several years living and working in the Nashville songwriting scene, honing her craft and learning the ins and outs of the industry. She’s shared her music at iconic Nashville venues such as CMA Fest (Pete & Terry’s Stage), the Nashville Songwriter’s Association Writers In the Round, The Tin Roof, Live Oak, The Nashville Palace, The Commodore, and many more. In 2023, Cassidy returned home to Elkins, West Virginia, where she’s reconnecting to her heritage, place, identity, while restoring her 100+ year old home.
Cassidy is currently finishing her forthcoming album with producer and co-writer, Zach McCord (a WV native and former Nashvillian best known for his work with Charles Wesley Godwin). Recorded at McCord’s historic-church-turned-studio in Clarksburg, WV, the project explores themes of homecoming, resilience, love lost, and self-awareness gained. The first single, "Lanterns," was released in November 2025 and tells a story of stepping away from the noise and expectations to meet yourself again in the dark.
CASSIDY DICKENS & THE FORGET-ME-NOTS
Cassidy performs both as a solo acoustic artist and with her band, Cassidy Dickens & The Forget Me Nots. Building on the warmth and intimacy of her solo shows, her full-band performances add a layer of electric energy, soaring harmonies, and anthemic moments that get crowds on their feet. Cassidy and her band have opened for nationally recognized artists including Sam Burchfield and Smashmouth.
